Message but I think most are like it, it has a decently long, stiff rubber hose section with threads on the end. You just twist the rubber part to get the threads to engage in the head, and it has an o-ring to seal so you don't need to really tighten that well to seal it.

Mine has a feature that the pressure that the gauge reads is trapped by a check valve so you can crank the engine from the driver's seat then get out and look at the gauge and it keeps the reading until you bleed off the pressure. Not sure if that's on all of them or not, but it sure is handy.

Also on my tester, the gauge us connected by a quick disconnect (same as on a compressed air line) so it's easier to install the hose section without the gauge hanging off it, and you can use another higher quality gauge if you think the one that comes with it it acting odd or out of calibration.
